Haere Mai and welcome to this little blog of mine-I’m really glad you’re here. I hope you will be able to take some time out from life’s crazy busy and find a moment for yourself to have a stroll around Dahlia Moments.
But why Dahlia Moments? Well, there are a couple of reasons. Firstly, one of my strongest memories is of my Dad’s love of Dahlias. In Summer our front garden was full of them and I loved the colours and different types but was always slightly freaked by the bugs that used to hide in them. So when I was thinking of a name I liked the idea of Dahlia as I thought it was a small way to honour my whanau (family). Checkout the pic below and you’ll see 80s me posing in front of the dahlia bed (why yes, you’re correct, this will be the first of many embarrassing pics!)
The part that proved this name was meant to be was when I found what dahlia’s symbolise : “elegance, inner strength, creativity, positive change and dignity. They’re also known to represent a person who stands strong in her values, is kind, stays relaxed and adventurous and isn’t scared to stand out from the crowd” Phew that’s a lot but don’t you think that’s the kind of woman you are or in my case, want to be?
So Dahlia Moments. Perhaps an opportunity to be inspired or challenged, to be informed and have some fun along the way.
Arohanui, Hope to see you again, KA
